At maurices we believe that the health of our business depends on the vitality of our hometown communities. Our “giving focus” supports women, who are at the heart of our hometowns. Our goal is to support our hometowns and the causes most important to them.

We are building a culture of volunteerism and increasing participation in our associate engagement programs through service.
One of our signature events is our Best Day Ever, which includes associates in our offices spending time in the community participating in a Grand Give.

Donated over $400,000 to charities in our home office communities (Duluth MN, St. Paul, MN, and New York, NY)
Donated over $250,000 to rural hospitals to help fight COVID-19
Donated over $60,000 to support relief and clean up efforts following natural disasters
Supported military, nurses, teachers and service members through donations to specific causes and an always-on discount
Donated to several scholarship funds (Joel Labovitz, NAACP, Clayton Jackson McGhie)

2022 ambitions
Create a targeted local giving strategy that incorporates hometown giving and 2–3 signature causes.
Develop a local give back program through register roundups/a scalable platform (Shopping Gives) which enables customer-directed giving.
Develop and introduce a “hometown hero” award within our communities.
Internally, reintroduce Best Day Ever, increase participation in the Bridge Fund and test an associate volunteer program.

We work with local partners, including the American Red Cross, to assist our associates and customers affected by crisis situations.
During COVID, we also donated over $1 million worth of product to our partner, Delivering Good, for women in need.
