Apple shapes have a fuller bust with a wider back and shoulders. They are slim through the hips and backside. If you are an apple shape, your upper body is larger than your lower half. Apple shapes are easy to camouflage the problem areas. Tops and dresses that have empire waistlines bring the focus off of your middle. Deep v-necks bring the eye up to your face. Fuller silhouettes in skirts and dresses balance and hide your stomach.

Pear shape means your upper body is clearly smaller than your lower body. When you gain weight, it mostly fills out in your hips. Your shoulders and bust may be narrow or medium with a defined waist. Where you’re curvy is in your hips, thighs and butt. Bringing emphasis to your face, bust and accentuating your waist is best. Wearing colorful tops with a wide neckline paired with slimming dark bottoms will help broaden your shoulders and balance you out. Since your upper half is your best asset, wear more fitted and tailored plus size tops. Straight skirt and pant styles are best. Maxi dresses are your best friend!

Hourglass shapes are curvy on top and bottom with a noticeably defined waist. Sometimes it’s hard finding clothes that fit. You may find it hard to find pants that fit your hips but don’t gap out at the waist. Look for styles that nip in at the waist so they work with your curves, not against them. It’s important to keep proportions in mind when dressing. Too much shown on the top or bottom will throw off your look. A rectangular shape means you have a straight overall shape without much curve. With this body type you’ll want to create the illusion of curves.
