George Goldfarb is President of maurices. He has been with the company for over 25 years and held the role of EVP, Chief Operating Officer in 2009 after holding the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for the previous seven years.
In his current role, George oversees all aspects of maurices operations with over $900 million in annual revenue, top tier industry profitability and more than 850 stores nationwide. Under his leadership, maurices assumed back office financial functions for all five ascena brands with over 4,000 store locations. maurices is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ascena Retail Group, Inc. (NASDAQ – ASNA), a $5 billion publicly traded company.
His leadership and commitment to education, business and non-profit philanthropy groups proves to be an asset to the organization and community.
Brad Hartmann is the Senior Vice President, Chief Creative Officer of maurices. He started his maurices career as the Creative Director in November 2005. Brad previously held the position of Vice President of Marketing prior to assuming his current role in July 2012.
His responsibilities include the creative design of all marketing and supporting pieces, overseeing the Creative Team as well as the Marketing Operations team.
Brian Thun is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of maurices. He has been with the company for over 20 years and assumed his current role in the summer of 2012 after holding the position of Vice President, Controller for the previous eight years.
In his current role, Brian oversees all financial functions for the maurices brand including Financial Planning, Inventory Systems and Real Estate Accounting. He also has responsibilities for Store Planning, Loss Prevention and Purchasing. One of Brian’s key functions is partnering with Ascena and outside vendors to ensure strong accounting measures are upheld throughout the organization.
Brian is an Area Partnership for Economic Expansion (APEX) Board Member in the Duluth community.
Erin Stern is maurices’ Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer. She joined the organization in April 2013 after serving as a consultant since December 2012.
Erin’s extensive experience includes merchandising, design, production and marketing. As Chief Merchandising Officer, Erin is responsible for merchandising, design and our brand. She works closely with leaders of customer experience including Design, Marketing, Visual and Stores to develop and deliver differentiating, seamless customer experiences.
Erin also is a board member of Crown Jewel Club, a non-profit organization that empowers at-risk girls with basic etiquette and social skills essential to building self-esteem and self-confidence for academic achievement and overall success in life.
Mary Bradley is maurices’ Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager. She joined the organization in March 2002 and assumed her current role in 2012.
Within this role, Mary leads the merchant team to drive sales and profit by delivering fashion and value to our target customer. She collaborates with the trend and design teams to set the fashion vision for our over 850+ stores across the U.S. and Canada. Mary is also integral in the visual and marketing strategies to ensure product vision and presentation is in line with our fashion vision.
Since joining maurices, Mary has served on many cross-functional teams in support of company goals, and volunteers for a number groups that support women and children.
Mike Herrick is maurices' Senior Vice President of Planning and Allocation. Mike joined maurices in 1988 and has held many key positions across Buying as well as Planning and Allocation in his 25 year career.
He assumed his current role in the fall of 2002 and now oversees all aspects of Planning, Allocation and Distribution of goods. Mike also indirectly oversees Distribution Center functions for maurices.
Neil McPhail is maurices' Senior Vice President of Stores. He joined the organization in October 2012.
Neil brings more than twenty five years of retail management experience to maurices. Neil’s extensive experience has focused on improving employee and customer experiences through strategies that increase morale, revenue, profit and retention. As SVP of Stores, Neil is responsible for driving sales and growing our brand. He provides field leadership, while ensuring achievement of annual sales targets.
Sue Ross is maurices’ Executive Vice President of Human Resources. She joined the organization in March 1990 and assumed her current role in 2002.
Within this role, Sue considers her most important responsibility to be leading and evolving the company’s culture and helping maurices maintain its place as a “preferred place to work.” She serves the company’s 8000+ associates by leading all human resource functions including talent acquisition, organizational development, talent and performance management, organizational effectiveness, compensation, benefits and diversity/inclusion.
Since maurices joined the Ascena family in 2007, Sue has also been closely involved in leading cross-enterprise learning, communication and exchange of best practices.
